North Goa or South Goa, which is better?

Whenever you plan for best beach destination trip, Goa than you have a common question in mind. Whether you should go to North Goa or South Goa. Today I am going to tell you main difference between the both city of Goa so that you can easily decide as per your trip. Before going further there is a disclaimer that whole Goa is good and you can find 99% things in both the places but a small things can make a big difference. So let's get started.

1. Budget OR Luxury/Offical trip.
First of all if you love luxury travelling, your wallet is full or you are going on a trip which is sponsored by someone or your company then you should go South Goa. But if you are going on budget trip then you should certainly go to North Goa.

2. Resorts/Hotels OR Beach Huts/Hostels
If you a traveller who loves to stay in costly 5 star hotels and resorts then you should stay in South Goa. But if you are a lover of beach huts, hostels like me then you should stay in North Goa.

3. Cruise/Casinos OR Relax/Nightlife
If you love cruises, want to go to casinos then you should head to South Goa because all the crusies and casinos are in South Goa but if you want relax life and sometimes real raunchy nightlife of Goa then you should stay in North Goa.

4. Costly/Cheap
Undoubtly South Goa is costlier than North Goa. What ever you buy/stay/eat etc South Goa will always be costly in comparison to North Goa.

5. Family OR Solo/friends trip
If you are going with family then you should try to stay in South Goa but if you are going on solo trip or with friends then you should stay in North Goa because you will enjoy more there.

Conclusion: So friends for a luxury, family trip you can go to South Goa but for solo and budget trip you should opt for North Goa. Best enjoyment is in North Goa!!!!!

Goa in just Rs. 5000 for 5 days..!!!!

Goa!!!! a beach destination of India but famous worldwide. Be it Indians or foreigner, #Goa is one destination where every tourist want to go at least for once. The only concern is budget, because maximum tourists think that Goa is a costly destination but my friends today I am going to tell you that Goa is not at all costly. Even I can assure you that you can travel to Goa in as low as Rs. 5000 that too for 5 days. Unbelievable??? well today I will make it believe, so lets begin.

In every trip there are three things which takes maximum money from our wallet and that is: Journey, stay and food. So, today i will talk about these 3 topics. I am doing this calculation presuming that you are staying around 1200 km away from Goa. If your place is  more then that, you can increase few rupees and if your place is near by you can cut few rupees.

JOURNEY:
Whenever you plan a budget trip always remember that you dont have to travel by flights instead always take a train (when in same country). Difference between fare of flight and train is huge in India. So, for 1200 km train journey in sleeper class (and believe me sleeper class experience in India is awesome). It will cost you around Rs. 640 for one side so return journey will be approx Rs. 1280/-

STAYING:
Whenever you are on budget or solo trip never take hotels for staying. Even cheaper hotels are not budget friendly for budget travelers. So the best place to stay and enjoy is Hostels. Yes, hostels are not only cheap but there you can chill out with other travelers of different countries and have a wonderful time. Hostels will cost you anywhere between Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 and if we take a average rate than Rs. 300 for 5 days will cost you total Rs. 1500/- for stay.

FOODING:

Fooding in Goa is also not very costly. While living in hostel you can easily make your breakfast in as cheap as Rs. 70 or can get local breakfast in the same rate. Lunch and Dinner is also not very costly specially if you a non-vegetarian. Even if you are vegetarian then also you can have you lunch and dinner in as low as Rs. 150 for each. In this way you can have your fooding in Rs. 370/day which comes to Rs. 1850/-. Always prefer local food which is not only cheap but also tasty.

LOCAL TRAVEL:
Always do your local travel with bus from one beach to another, although within 2 beaches you can enjoy your full 5 days very easily. Your bus tickets will cost you around Rs. 370.

CONCLUSION:
So in this way if you will calculate the full amount will come to Rs. 5000/- There are some tips which will be very helpful for your Goa trip.
1. Always carry Rs. 5000 extra in case of any emergency.
2. Make friends so that your expenses can further be divided.
3. Avoid going to Goa between 1st Dec to 10th January if you are on budget trip because at that time Goa is most and very expensive.

Top 3 Travel Tips for solo and budget travelers.

If you are a solo or budget traveler and otherwise also, then you should follow these top 3 travel tips to make your travelling more comfortable and enjoyable.

You should always carry a selfie stick so that you can click shake-free pictures and videos but that selfie stick should have inbuilt tripod and blue tooth. The main reason for this is that you can always have wider photos and videos and also you can have full length clicks for yourself as well as the places.
Bluetooth is important so that you can click photos and videos from distance also which will help you from coming near to your camera every time.

When we are on travel, one of the most irritating problem is - wet towel. After taking bath we use towel but on most of the places it's very hard to dry it. Even sometimes towel is wet till next morning also. Also our regular towel takes much space in our bag.

So the solution of all these problem is "micro fibre towel". These towels are very light weight, can be folded to small size and most importantly they get dry in minutes to give good pat on our "wet looks" 😊.

Tip no-3: Backpack in place of trolly bag

If you want your travelling hassle free and you want to feel like a free bird then always carry backpack in place of trolly bag. Firstly, they are very easy to carry on your back and your body is free to run, climb and whatever you want. Secondly, they can accommodate as many stuff as you want (although my suggestion is you should always carry minimum possible stuff).

Goa: Episode 4- Baga Beach, Night Life Destination

As we all know that Goa is known for its beaches but night life of Goa is equally exciting. You just have to know the right place and that place is Baga Beach.

Most Happening beach of Goa- Baga Beach

Baga beach is most crowded and happening beach of Goa. It is full of tourists and specially Indian crowd. But that doesnt mean that foreigners doesnt go there. Actually Baga beach is combination of beach and night life. This is the main reason that tourists can enjoy beach in day time and have a rocking night life.

Tons of option for staying

Staying in Baga is not a problem. You will find many hotels, villas, resorts, room, hostels etc in Baga. As number of tourists are more in Baga so staying options are also more. You can easily find room in your budget but just remember one thing, try to book your accommodation in advance as walk in checking might cost you higher.

Main attraction- Tito's lane

Baga is popularly known by Tito's lane. Actually Tito is most famous night club of Goa. Thats why the full lane is known Tito's lane and you will find lots of food joints, pubs, night club in and near this lane. Also this lane ends at the beach so its a very crowded lane. Try to avoid taking your vehicle in this lane.

Night Club Destination

Baga is known as night life paradise and you will find dozens of night clubs and pubs in around Tito's lane. They have different entry charges and you can choose as per your budget. Most costly is Tito's where they charge 3300/stag (men), 2700/couple, it includes your entry and drinks. Although other good clubs are also there where you can go from Rs. 1000.
For females Baga is a paradise as in almost every club Entry and drinks for females is FREE.

Free Night Life!!- Beach Shacks

If you want to enjoy night life fully and still dont want to spend on entry charges then Beach Shacks are best for you. All beach shacks has music and dance floor from evening till late night. The main benefit is that its FREE, you can just go in any of the shack and start dancing. If you wish you can buy drinks and food.

Attention Foreigners

All my foreigner friends who are coming to Goa are most welcome and dont worry there is also something for you. I know that most of you dont like that crowded place, loud music etc so you can do one thing. On Baga beach there is a shack called Bosco, from that shack onwards you will find all shacks full of foreigners only. So you can just relax and also can enjoy in night with little music and less crowd.

Goa Episode-3, Arambol- The Beach Hut Destination

Friends, if you think that Goa is only for nightlife and all the beaches are same in Goa then you are highly mistaken. Goa is a paradise of positive life and every beach of Goa is blessed with different aroma. Today I will share my experience of Arambol Beach of Goa which is also known as Beach Hut paradise.

Arambol- The beach hut paradise

Arambol beach is at the one corner of Goa. It is around 28 km from Anjuna/Baga etc. Situated at the extreme North of Goa, Arambol can be reached either by the scooty/motorcycle you have hired or by taxi. I would suggest that if you are with family/couple then you should take taxi as road to Arambol is in very zig zag manner. When going to Arambol if possible keep backpack in place of trolley bag specially if you are staying in beach hut because due to heavy sand you wont be able to carry trolley bag with you.

No-Rock Beach

The best part of Arambol beach is, that it is a rock free beach. It means you can fully enjoy in water without any fear of rock and hurt. Also this beach is very broad in comparison to other beaches of North Goa which gives a beautiful view and much open area to enjoy your vacation.

Super Attraction- Beach Huts

If you are going to Goa and not staying in beach hut then you are surely missing something. Although if you want you can stay in hotels, villas, flats in Arambol but best stay will be beach hut. These huts are made up of bamboo and are equipped with attached washroom, double bed, etc. The feel of living on the beach, with the sound of waves, awesome sunset will make you mesmerized. These beach huts are also super cheap as daily rent starts from Rs. 400 to Rs 1200 depending upon the availability. I stayed in Baltika Beach Hut but you can stay in any beach huts.

Daily Life at Arambol

Daily life at Arambol beach is totally different from other beaches of North Goa. Here morning starts with Yoga, Walking, Jogging, Dancing etc. After breakfast You can have your sunbath, drinks, swimming in water and can enjoy full day there. After watching beautiful sunset you can sit outside your hut and enjoy enjoy your drink while watching sea in night or even take a night walk. Arambol beach has 99% foreign crowd and you will rarely find Indians there.

No Party Place

Arambol is Not a party place. This beach is to relax, detox your mind, exploring your inner self and start loving your soul. There is hardly 1-2 places for night party but that is also not daily and it stops by 12 in the midnight. Best time to go Arambol is from October to February, after that you wont find beach huts.

Silence Pleaseeeee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One most important thing if you are living in beach hut. Dont make loud noise. As beach huts are made up of bamboo thing and huts are very near by so your neighbour can easily hear your voice. So, if you are staying there specially as a couple, then make sure to keep your voice to minimum, I hope you can understand what I want to say.

Goa Episode 2- Anjuna: Paradise of Backpackers and Hostels

Goa is a paradise for all those who loves to travel. Goa is full of beaches but still every beach has its own taste and soul. Some beaches are to relax where as some for party. Even if you like both then also you wont be disappointed. From our Goa diaries we will tell you about Anjuna Beach.

Anjuna: Paradise of Backpackers and Hostels

Anjuna beach in Goa is known as a 'Beach of youngsters'. Anjuna is total paradise for backpackers with dozens of hostels to live and remember your old bachelor days. You can stay in hotels also but I would suggest that if you are travelling alone or with friends then do stay in hostel and experience that life. There are so many good hostels in Anjuna like Lazy Llama, Red Door, Hoping Frog etc where you can stay in cheap priced bunk beds (as low as Rs. 300/bed), chat around with travelers from all over the world, share experiences, make food by yourself in common kitchen and chill at night in common space. It will be a different experience altogether.

Beware of Drugs- NO TO DRUGS

Caution: for all my readers. Anjuna is full of drugs so just be extra careful and say a big NO to drugs. Be it hostels, shacks, parties, beach everywhere you will find people using drugs. They can be locals, foreigners, Indians anyone. Try to avoid taking cigarette, drinks etc from strangers, it might contain drugs. You are there to enjoy your life not to spoil it, so just beware of drugs.

Rocky Beach- Anjuna

One biggest drawback of Anjuna beach is that it is a rocky beach. Which means within 4 to 6 ft of sea water length you will find pointed rock beneath it and you wont be able to play or swim in water. You can just walk in water, enjoy some water sport and enjoy on sun bed. So, if you love to relax on sun bed with your favorite drinks then you are going to enjoy a lot.

Shacks and Sun bed

Anjuna beach is also known for its shacks. You will find many sea facing shacks along with beach. You can take any sun bed and relax there for the whole day. The only condition is that you will have to order drinks or food from the same shack whose sun bed you are using. Although this is not a big deal as you are there to enjoy so you can easily order food, drinks (which are very cheap in Goa) and take sun bath on sun bed.

Anjuna Flea Market

Anjuna, is also known for its famous flea market. This market is operational on every Wednesday and you can purchase lot many things from here. From local specialty to all type of products from all over India. Cloths, shoes, leather etc all are easily available in this market. Although remember to bargain a lot, you can easily get any product on 60% cheaper rate after bargaining.

Shiva Valley Night Party

When you are in Goa then how can you miss nightlife of Goa. Anjuna is also a nightlife place where almost all the shacks organize parties once in a week. But the most popular, happening party is Shiva Valley Night Party which is organized every Tuesday on the beach. This party starts around 11 PM and continues till 5 in the morning. This party is full of drinks, dance, food and what not. It is said that if you are in Goa then Shiva Valley Party is a must place to go.
Caution: Be careful from drugs and dont take any food, drinks etc from strangers it might have drugs.

Anjuna is mixture of relax and party life. This is more like a place for bachelors or solo travellers. But if you are going to Goa then you cant afford to miss place like Anjuna.

Goa- Episode 1- Must read if you are going to Goa by flight.

Goa- A pleasure destination

"Goa", place of beaches, fun and pleasure. It’s like a dream place for everyone whether young or old. Since my adolescence I was crazy about Goa. Every time I use to make plans with my friends but unfortunately for some or the other reasons they never materialized. So, after a lot of thoughts, plannings , some inspiration and online research I decided to start my ‘Solo Travel’ life and that too from Goa. I just bought my first rucksack, packed the bag, booked my flight ticket and flew to Goa.

Best backpacks for travelling

Problem of conveyance from Goa airport to proper Goa

During several internet research I came to know that it’s not that easy to get conveyance from Goa to North or South Goa at reasonable rate, it is very costly. I had 4 hours connecting flight from Hyderabad airport so during that time I researched on internet but did not get a proper solution. So I decided to first reach the Goa airport and then see what can be done. So, friends I am going to tell you about the problems and the solutions which you are going to face if you are planing for Goa by flight.

Very costly taxi service

Taxi service in Goa is very costly. When you reach Goa airport, you will find 3 pre paid taxi counters just before the exit gate. These are the govt approved taxi counters but very costly. From Goa airport to North or South Goa it will cost you something around Rs. 1000 to 1500 during day time and Rs. 1800 to 2200 at night, as they include night charges after 9 pm.

My flight reached at around 1 am and when I inquired from two of the counters they told me the rate of 1850 and 2250 respectively from airport to Anjuna. Then I moved to third counter and that counter was of “Goamiles” - a taxi app run by Goa govt.

Best taxi service “GoaMiles”

GoaMiles” is a taxi app just like Ola and Uber (as both of these are not operational in Goa) and it is run by the Goa govt itself. When I downloaded and enquired on this app then it showed me the rate of Rs. 1500 from airport to Anjuna. Means there was a difference of around 300 to 700 approx between private taxi counters and “GoaMiles” app. So, friends my suggestion is if you are visiting Goa by flight then download GoaMiles app and travel cheaply.

Never opt for taxis outside airport

When you move outside the Goa airport you will also find some taxi drivers standing outside. They will offer you a taxi ride at 100-200 Rs less than that offered in GoaMiles app. But my suggestion is never go for those taxis. The reason being, Goa is known for its liquor life and specially in night, most of these taxi drivers are drunk. So, never opt for these taxis in night specially if you are with family or female. It may cause you discomfort. So, either book a taxi from the app or if those taxis are not available then book it from those two pre paid taxi counters.

Volvo Shuttle AC bus service

One of the best and cheapest conveyance available from Goa airport is Volvo Shuttle bus service. This bus service is operational from 8am to 6pm and the best conveyance if your flight is reaching between 8am to 6pm. This service is not available after or before above mentioned time. You can directly book your bus ticket from their website in advance and easily go towards North or South Goa in just Rs. 157/person.

Conclusion

So, if you are going to Goa by flight then either book taxi from “GoaMiles” app or book Volvo shuttle bus service (www.goakadamba.com). This will make your vacation not only cheaper but also easier and comfortable
